Recently, cardiac troponin T and I are considered to be the most important biochemical markers for evaluation of cardiotoxic effect of new drugs. The most papers studied the cardiac troponins either on the acute model of cardiotoxicity induced by catecholamins or on the model of chronic cardiotoxicity after administration of anthracyclines. "Diagnostic window" in toxicological studies differs significantly from acute myocardial infarction because the increased cardiac troponin levels last only 48-72 days after administration.
