Diabetes mellitus (DM) is divided into pregestational (DM Type 1, Type 2, MODY) and gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) in the contex of pregnancy. Perinatal morbidity and mortality offspring of mother with pregestational DM still remain higher than in non-diabetic population.
Unsatisfactory glycemic control (HbA1c) has unfavourable influence for pregnancy outcome. The series of studies have confirmed that good glycemic control is related with lower incidence of malformations and improves pregnancy outcome.
And it is the target of the comprehensive care about pregnant diabetic women.
