Abstract
Ziziphus jujuba is a deciduous tree originating from China, its fruits edible. Ziziphus seeds are used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries and possess many healing properties.
Main active compounds are cyclopeptide alkoloids, especially sanjoinin A, trieterpenoid saponins and flavonoids. Numerous pharmacological studies confirm effects of jujube.
Perspective is mainly anxiolytic effect.
