Saint John's bed. Fate of the custom in 20th century in the Krkonoše region.

Abstract

The article was created as a result of field research in the Upper Jizera region. It informs about the present state of the tradition in the light of the European context (slovenian custom posteljica svatego Janěza, the belief in the presence of Saint John the Baptist in the day of his feast and imprints of the parts of his body as a proof in Brittany or Ardenes).
