Information safety should be included among the topics for education in libraries. This text focuses on children as a target group of this education.
There can be different types of barriers preventing realization of information safety lessons in a library, be it on the part of the library, the school or children and their families, or, from another perspective, issues arising due to inappropriate content. The aim of this paper is to show that these barriers may exist, but that they are not insurmountable.
On the basis of six interviews with the representatives of all the above-mentioned groups, I will present their views on the idea that the library should provide information safety education to children, but also to other target groups.
