The article presents a critical reflection on the problem of the school of old age and the process of old age education (gerontagogy) in the concept of the philosophy of education by Czech philosopher Prof. Radim Palous.
Although he has been inspired by the work of John Amos Comenius, the education of older adults interprets in ontological and entelecheia contexts. The author together with Prof.
Palous attempts to answer essential questions 'what is the role of the education in old age?' and 'whether or not is the old age currently the best period for education?'.
