Abstract
This paper aims at briefly introducing international law issues which are contained in the Paris Peace Treaties of 1947. After a brief outline of the genesis and significance of the institute of peace conferences and peace treaties in public international law we elaborate in more detail on those aspects of the Paris Peace Treaties that, in the past, have been of a special interest to the doctrine of public international law.
This contribution is not primarily about the historical significance of the particular regulations contained in the analyzed peace treaties, but about legal-theoretical reflections on their structure and content. Current international legal literature pays only marginal attention to the Paris Peace Treaties, suggesting that the contracts have rather historical significance and do not significantly affect the current concept of peace agreements.
