Use of therapeutic materials in wound healing in gynecology

Publication |
2014

Abstract

A wound healing using a phase specific (moist) wound treatment involves a process of physiological healing which can be effectively used for wounds of all etiologies and in many medical fields. The wounds within the field of gynecology occur, compared to other fields, in an extensive anatomic region (the genital and anal areas, the abdomen, the hypogastrium, mammary glands).

During surgery, especially in cases of extensive surgical interventions, attention must also be given to the prevention of skin damage in the exposed sites. The range of therapeutic protection includes a variety of applications which can be used both in prevention and treatment.

The text describes the most frequent sites of development of complicated and non-healing wounds, complemented by the findings focused on effective prevention and therapy.
