Abstract
This article gives basic information about Ebola virus: origin of name, taxonomy, structure and replication of virus particle, transmission, symptoms of Ebola virus disease, treatment, vaccination and prevention. Specifics of outbrake in 2014, possibilities of its occurence in the Czech Republic and some interventions to reduce this risk are also mentioned.
