Abstract

The article examines critically Hejdánek's concept of values. The author criticises especially the fact that Hejdánek identifies values with his "non-objective challenges".

On the grounds of his phenomenological analysis of the temporality of human existence, the author offers an alternative concept which differentiates between the two: while the "non-objective challenges" are considered as the final resource of values, the values themselves are viewed as general sediments of singular answers to the "non-objective challenges"
