The paper describes results of the survey on library services for users with special needs (people with disabilities, minorities, socially excluded people and other disadvantaged groups of users) which took place in May 2014. The aim of the survey was to find out how the requirements on equal access declared in the Library Act are met in practice in the libraries.
As the present survey was a follow-up to the survey on public library services for people with disabilities carried out by the National Library of the Czech Republic in 2007, the paper provides not only information about the current state of library services to persons with special needs but also a comparison with the situation in this field in 2007.
