A hearing impairment constitutes a communication and information barrier, which is to a different extent, depending on the degree, type, time of onset of the hearing impairment, personality of the hearing impaired person and his living conditions, reflected in the proces of socialisation, education and laborisation. A basic precondition for integrating into society and palying various social roles and holding diverse positions is mutual understanding, information sharing, and interpersonal communication.
