Abstract

Active life style (ALS) it is a form of life style (LS), that we understand like an interaction between individual and environment. This interaction in basic simplification has the two parts - biological and social.

ALS is considered to be such LS where adequate regular physical activity has its place too. The aim of this study was verify ALS in children and characterize its determinants.

The study was realized in the groups of healthy children of both genders. Assessed were in laboratory and field 17 978 healthy children (51 % boys and 49% girls) in age ranged from 6 to 14 years.

The children with ALS have less healthy problems then the non-active. Approximately 84% of children's populations have a sedentary LS and this amount increased with an increased age.

Majority of the Czech children population is characterized by decrease of realized activities with increased age. The background of all successful management for health state influence is based on increase of energy output, mainly realized by movement activities.

The minimal volume of weekly realized movement activities could be about 5 hours. The increase of children with ALS must be main goals of all intervention in children, and the responsibility of a success of these interventions have family and school.
