The article concerns the history of the relationship between two authors of the monographs about Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and Bohemia - the German journalist and writer Johannes Urzidil (1896-1970) and the Germanist at the Czech university of Prague Arnošt V. Kraus (1859-1943).
