This paper attempts to summarize all available historical sources and the literature about the Bohemian Province of the Capuchin Order in the 17th century. It focuses on the narrative sources and on the Annales Patrum Capucinorum provinciae Boemiae in particular.
Lastly we present a prosopographical overview of the situation of the Capuchin friars in the Czech lands in 1599-1618 showing their rapid advent that enabled them to play an important role in re-catholicization.
