In this chapter the characters of Czech folklore connected to human dwellings via comparison to their equivalents appearing in the folklore of the West and East Slavs and Balts are examined. After a brief analysis of the Czech lexemes the beings' similarities are investigated by comparing the story plots, in which those characters appear, and similarities of their attributes are also presented.
As a conclusion, a peculiar chthonic essence and a lesser impact of christianity (considering the fate of other supernatural beings) were discovered.
