Abstract
The article is focused on the concept of norm and language culture. Based on a comparison of norm as conceived in Czech and Spanish linguistics, it claims that the definition of norm is essentially related to structural and other properties of the language to which the particular norm pertains.
This makes any general theory of language norm rather problematic.
