The article assesses Vladimir Sis' notion of the Balkan region in the eve of the First World War in the last chapter of his book "The New Balkan". At the bottom of his reflections stood the gloomy and rather pessimistic views on the Balkan region.
Regarding the aftermaths of the Second Balkan war in 1913, Vladimir Sis even predicted a military conflict in the region between the Balkan states. The Czech journalist proposed the view that the only remedy against such a disaster was the establishment of a completely new military and political coalition between Bulgaria, Serbia, Turkey and Albania.
The backbone of this alliance should form the Bulgarian/Serbian alliance. The main precodnition for its settlement was the peaceful solution of the macedonian problem by incorporating the Serbian part of Macedonia to Bulgaria.
