Abstract
The book discusses the problematic of the skull base from the viewpoint otolaryngology and neurosurgery. The great progress was achieved in the endoscopic approaches in the skull base, mainly in the region of sellar region.
The most important advantage is minimal traumatisation of surrounding tissues, within the same radical limits as external approaches. The main object of the publication is to introduce the list of the most used approaches, instrumentations and operation techniques.
The authors also describe the physiology, pathology diagnostics of sellar region and surrounding areas. In one of the chapters the nursing care in patients after the scull base endoscopic surgery is described.
The pitfalls of the nursing care are also shown.
