The text traces a difference of the concept of an appetancy between Schopenhauer and Nietzsche. In the context of his thinking about the body, Schopenhauer means that the appetency is the fundamental manifestation of the will, instead for Nietzsche is every desire an potence of the spiritualization (Vergeistigung).
Spiritualization of the desire then implies its incorparation (Einverleibung), in which the concrete desire tramsforms itself into the instinct.
