In interwar Czechoslovakia teetotal movement was significantly activated. It was mainly represented by Czechoslovak teetotal association.
Alcoholism was a serious social and health problem which solution was seen in legislation (Holitscher's law), enlightenment, health-social services (establishment of alcohol treatment counseling) and treatment (institute on alcohol abuse). Results of teetotal movement was weak because of strong opposition consisted of representative associations of distillers and innkeeper business related to political sphere.
