This paper deals with the use of a phonetic test in the process of acquiring the sound aspect of the Russian language. The aim is to point out the possibilities which the results obtained provide experts in didactics (and vicariously, the teachers of Russian) to increase the level of phonetic literacy of Czech students in the Russian language.
Without this information it is not possible to offer teachers and pupils current teaching materials that focus primarily on those areas of the sound aspects of Russian, which are most affected by interference.
