Minority Rights in Education at Secondary Schools

Abstract

Having analyzed the framework educational programmes applicable to secondary grammar schools and secondary professional schools, the author in his article shows that the official curricula documents require students to be introduced to the rights of different minorities and taught to respect and advocate the values of minorities. Using the maxims of psychology and didactics, the author indicates what principles should be relevant in teaching minority rights in secondary schools.

In conclusion, he introduces five particular methods justified by practice which may be incorporated in education, namely case study, moot court, role play, brainstorming and group teaching.
