Sketch and Photographs : Possibilities of interpretation of iconographic archival sources to the knowledge of Pompei

Abstract

An attempt to indicate the possibility of using a set of drawings of the architect and draftsman Giovanni Silvestri in the service of the Grand Duke Leopold II. of Tuscany from 1834 and the photographs of Granduke's daughters from 1900 as a source for archeology of ancient Pompeii.
