Abstract

Tennis serve has different efficiency on different surfaces. Every surface has specific characteristics and has different effects on a ball impact and ball bounce.

Our aim is to compare service efficiency on different surfaces in tennis doubles at professional tennis tournaments ATP (Association of tennis professionals). The matches were played on clay, hard and grass courts.

With the help of match records, we found, that the most service points were won on grass courts; and the least service points on clay courts. The serving team has the biggest advantage on the grass court.

The advantage of service is more limited on the clay court, where the receiving players have the biggest chance to win the point.
