Abstract
The study deals with the origin and early evolution of Prague resident's resorts in the vicinity of Prague at the end of the 19th century and the first decades of the 20th century. It searches roots of the resort phenomenon and monitors the social, cultural and technical conditions of their formation.
It also addresses the relationship of permanent residents and vacationers to the way how to spend free time in the resorts.
