The study deals with heritage practice in the transfer of farms in the Třeboň dominion in the first third of the 18th century. No unified mechanism (principle) of inheritance existed; as a rule, the heir was the oldest son.
It deals also with the position of women farmers who ran their farms independently, in some cases for longer than a decade. These topics reveal the fact that a number of farmers ran their farm without success during this period and gave up the management of the farm.
Such an act did not bring them any significant social stigmatization.
