We report on evolution of magnetism in Ru rich pseudoternary UCoxRu1-xAl compounds. Single crystals of nominal composition UCo0.19Ru0.81Al, UCo0.27Ru0.73Al and UCo0.40Ru0.60Al have been prepared by Czochralski method and experimentally studied by X-ray diffraction, magnetization, specific heat and electrical resistivity with respect to varying temperature and magnetic field.
Data analysis confirmed strong uniaxial anisotropy (the hexagonal c-axis is the easy magnetization direction) and existence of "hard" and "soft" ferromagnetic phase (HFP and SFP). UCo0.40Ru0.60Al adopts the SFP below TC = 41 K whereas the HFP forms below TC1 = 35 K.
UCo0.27Ru0.73Al has TC = 17 K (transition to SFP with cooling) and exhibits some signatures of the SFP HFP transition (TC1) below 5 K. UCo0.19Ru0.81Al is paramagnetic down to 2 K.
The low temperature resistivity and heat capacity scaling reveals signatures of the non-Fermi liquid behavior around the composition UCo0.19Ru0.81Al
