Abstract
the paper studies on the ground of artefact analisis an assemblage of objects of mediterranena origin said to have been discovered in Modřany near Prague as wel as (on the grounds of archive study) their second life in the different collections through which they passed. basing on the expsed considerations, the provenance of all the objects from a central European find context is turned down. an origin from an antiquities collection seems to be a plausible explanation. the artefacts have to be therefore excluded from considerations on Mediterranean objects in Central Europe.
