Abstract
Opening parts of the chapter outlines the genres of the historical literature in Tibet. The text continues with the views on tobacco in Tibet as they appear in the literature dealing with the "evil of tobacco".
Through the myth on origin of tobacco from the menstrual blood of Chinese demoness the tobacco enters the universal drama underlying also history according to the Tibetan authors. In such drama the virtue and evil stand against each other.
The parallel with the historical literature is apparent in such a case.
