Abstract
The present paper is focused on K. Hausenblas's implicit, but systematically applied conception on linguistics as a human science, reflecting namely his specific interest in text and style of literary works.
In this respect, it is loosely connected to two of Hausenblas's studies: (a) O termnologii sémantické (On semantic terminology) - a brief essay on connotation from cognitivist perspective, and the importance of studying connotations through poetry -, and (b) Zobrazení prostoru v Máchově Máji (Space depiction in Mácha's May) - semantics of adjective bílý and its derivatives, the role of whiteness in the depiction of space.
