PREDICTORS OF NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL DYSFUNCTION IN CHILDREN WITH INTRACTABLE EPILEPSY DUE TO TUBEROUS SCLEROSIS

Publication

Abstract

The following risk factors of mental deficit have been reported in large series of pediatric patients with tuberous sclerosis (TSC): Number of cortical tubers, TSC2 mutation, early seizure onset, intractable seizures and infantile spasms. We focused on analyzing predictors of neuropsychological dysfunction in children selected for excisional epilepsy surgery, invariably presenting with drug-resistant seizures.
