The adaptation of J. K.
Tyl's Fidlovačka by the director Svatopluk Innemann belongs to one of the first sound Czech films. The films premiere has became a political manifestation - T.
G. Masaryk was present as many other government members and political representatives.
The timing is clearly connected to autumn nationalistic demonstrations against German speaking films.
