The hinterland of the dukel "curtis" in Sadská and the castle Podiebrad : the development and the end of a hunting forest
Abstrakt
The aim of this paper is a deeper knowledge of the economy of the ducel courtyard ("curtis") in Sadská (11th-12th century) and its integration into the ruler estate system of the late Přemysliden period (2nd half of the 13th century). Special focus is put on the large forest and bush area, which originally belonged to the dukel "curtis" in Sadská and later to the royal castle in Podiebrad (Poděbrady).
Even in the first half of the 14th century fulfilled this area the role of a small hunting forest, but after 1350 it was radically reduced and at this point founded five new villages. The characteristic settlement form of these villages suggests a possible link with the other large foundations in Bohemia in the first half of the 14th century, including the Pürglitzer region (Křivoklát region).
