Abstract
The chapter is focused on the important work of the British literary theorist and historian Alan Sinfield, one of the founders of cultural materialism. The author analyzes Sinfield's fundamental concepts and works, esp. the concept of "effeminacy" and its relation to literature and homosexuality.
He uses Sinfield's text as well as other literature, mainly from the field of queer theory.
