Sorption plays an important role in transport of radioactive contaminants in hydrosphere. It is usually described with distribution coefficient; a ratio of radioactivity fixed on solid phase and dissolved in water in equilibrium.
This study is concerned with optimization and verification of a method for determination of the distribution coefficient for artificial radionuclides in systems of sediment-water and suspended solid-water, using batch tests. This method will facilitate gaining representative and comparable results, which can be used for assessment of radionuclides behaviour in water environment.
