Sorption plays an important role for radioactive contaminants transport in the hydrosphere. It is usually described using a distibution coefficient, a ration of radioactivity fixed in the solid phase and dissolved in water in equilibrium.
The study is concerned on a method of determination of the distribution coefficient for artificial radionuclides in sediment-water and suspended solids-water using batch tests. This method enables to obtain representative and comparable results that can be used for assessment of radionuclides behaviour in the water environment.
