Abstrakt
The authors analyze cases of translational mismatches between Polish and Czech, namely three lexemes showing that some concepts do not have a parallel in Polish, e.g. toužit, zdát se and mít rád. Polish copes with the gaps using various equivalents, which, however, often result in shifted shades of meaning, or even misunderstanding the original intention.
