Abstrakt
The paper focuses the drug-addiction in state socialist Czechoslovakia. The paper focuses the the forms of behavior, habits and rules within the groupings of drug-addicts in Czechoslovakia since the late 1960s.
It aims at portraying the Czechoslovak drug subculture in the 1970s and 1980s - main agents, their strategies both concerning the drug-addiction, and distribution of drugs, rituals and taboos, hierarchies within the groups of drug-addicts, meeting places. Moreover, the paper focuses the broader context of their life style - their clothing, favorite music or literature - and its reception by the majority of population.
Finally, the paper reconstructs the main conflict lines between the drug-addicts and the repressive organs (pharmacy-robberies, work-absenteeism etc.).
