A study of a Chinese-language poem Minzanka by Sesson Yūbai and its comparison to contemporary poems written in Japanese

Abstract

The main purpose of this article is to describe and analyze Sesson Yūbai's long poem Minzanka 岷山歌 and compare it to poems in Japanese written around the same time - from the 12th to the 15th century. In this paper the author will focus mostly on longer compositions, although comparison to waka poetry will be also drawn.
