Abstract

The chapter deals with the spatial dimension of the cultural memory, which was centered around the figure of J.A. Comenius.

It focuses on spatial aspect of the representations of the Comenius' life story, analyzes discourses related to mnemonically privileged places of Comenius' birth and grave, tackles with sacralized places that were deeply interwowen with culturally highlighted and canonized epizodes of Comenius biography, and finally pays attention to materialization of Comenius memory in the real spaces of towns and regions, as well as to its utilization in local and regional sphere.
