Pre-colonisation in the Black Sea : the first Greek pottery finds in the Black Sea

Abstract

The paper considers recent knowledge of the presence of the Greek pottery excavated in the Black Sea region. These finds pre-date first colonial activities of the Greek cities at the BLack Sea and thus allow us to think about the role of commerce in the later colonial exploitation of the distant parts of the world.
