Ten Years of Missions of St. Francis Xavier in Visual Arts

Abstract

The paper demonstrates a mutual interconnection of visual decorative program of the sacral space with Baroque devotion as well as contemporary Books of Prayer. In order to do so, it uses the Chapel of St.

Francis Xavier built at the Jesuit college in Prague - New Town as a prime example.
