Abstract

These discursions examine apostle Paul's engagement with the hermeneutics of Oral Torah in the milieu of intensive self-definition of early Christianity. His sophisticated strategy is based on the insight into rabbinic hermeneutics (esp. qal wa-homer, gezerah shawah, binyan av, kelal u-phrat, ke-yotze bo be-maqom aher, davar ha-lamed me-inyano) from his early hellenistic pharisaic education.

Paul's interpretation in letters to Galatian, Corinthian, Philipian and in particularly Roman community proves that the listeners can follow these techniques. In order to convert the traditional topics for the purposes of his discussion (esp.

Abrahamic) Paul preserves authentic technique of midrash in the Mishnaic period in respect.
