Dentoalveolar surgery. Test 2: Unusual complication of tooth extraction in the upper jaw

Publication at Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen |
2015

Abstract

The author presents a case of an unusual complication of the first maxillary molar extraction, which was considered to be the root fragment in the maxillary sinus. Based on CBCT the correct diagnosis was the displacement of the palatal root tip into the residual cyst.

The way of treatment and probable reasons leading to misdiagnose of this complication are discussed.
