Detector of reflex movements for automatic adjustment of optimal frequency of neurostimulating pulses in the course of resonance electric neuromodulating therapy

Publication

Abstract

The present invention relates to a detector of reflex movements for use in the electric neuromodulating therapy, preferably in urine incontinence therapy. The detector of the present invention is intended for automatic adjustment of frequency of neurostimulating pulses to an optimum value, which corresponds to a resonance of stimulating electric incentives with recollected motor reflexes of the corresponding muscle groups.

The detector comprises a ball (1) placed within a tubular casing (2) that is at its one end closed by a rigid plug (3) while at the other end of the casing (2), there is located a piezoelectric crystal (4). Electric signal is generated by the movement of the ball (1), which beats, due to the action of muscle reflex movements, against the piezoelectric crystal (4).

The detector makes it possible to increase substantially efficiency of neurostimulation and thus to shorten the duration of the more efficient therapy.
