Slovak Literature in the Czech Translation (2 x 101 Books for Children and Youth) and the Translation of Analfabeta Negramotná by Ján Uličiansky

Abstract

Author is thinking over a conception of unique encyclopedic Czech work "2 x 101 Books for Children and Youth", which is introducing authorial world known works for children and youth through interpretational texts. It is investigating axiological standpoint of title selection of Slovakian literature for children and youth with emphasis on the 20th century.

Slovak and Czech literature were thanks to long-term joint political development of both countries mutually influenced and translated a lot, therefore its relation is not established only on Slavic language closeness of both countries in the Central Europe. In conclusion Jana Cenkova is stating that the Czech translation of books like Analfabeta Negramotna is still a great challenge because its cultural and language differences.
