Multiple sclerosis is a chronic demyelinating disease of the central nervous system and the most frequent neurological condition leading to disability of young people. In 85% of patients, MS starts with acute neurological symptoms - so called relapsa, caused by inflammatory process in the brain or spinal cord.
The most important approach in these cases consists of rapid diagnostics and early initiation of antiinflammatory and immunomodulatory treatment. Only this approach can postpone disability and improve prognosis of a young patient.
