Greek and Black Sea transport amphorae and their parallels in Ancient Thrace, specifically in the area of Bulgaria

Abstract

The talk focuses of Greek and Black Sea transport amphorae in Ancient Thrace. The study presents new material revealed during field survey of TRAP in Yambol and Kazanalak Regions.

Mostly fragmented shards are considered, however some diagnostic pieces were also found, as Thassian stamp dated into the last quarter of the 4th century BC which has parallels in Greek Emporion Pistiros and at the ancient site of Kabyle.
