Abstract

The study interprets the development of Czechoslovak (Czech) radio broadcasting as a process of cultural innovation. The paper focuses on the history of radio broadcasting in the years 1923-1999, from a historical and anthropological point of view.

This contribution also is devoted to analysis of empirical data and sources, predominantly to secondary and historical analysis of accessible data regarding the radio. The focus of this study is to analyse the development of radio in Czechoslovakia and in the Czech Republic, which is interpreted as a spread of cultural innovation.
